Even if you ran to the farthest reaches of this earth, slapped your ears until they bled, and then put your fingers into your ears and tried to drown out all noise with Metallica blasting on 11, you would still know that Blizzard recently filed a trademark patent for the word Cataclysm. This isn’t news anymore, that’s OK we at MMOcker don’t do news. We will however tell you EVERYTHING there is to know about this move, all the info we could scrounge, and then we will make a guess….
So first lets give you the run down. Someone found out that Blizzard filed to trademark the word Cataclysm for use for the following reasons:

Then WoW.com pointed out that the domain wowCataclysm.com expired on the same day from the aussie holder and was now being held by Godaddy who handles blizzards domains.
While that doesn’t prove anything, its got its legs as a theory I have to say. Also remember that just becuase they have patented a word doesn’t mean they will be using it. As people have pointed out with Starcraft: Ghost.
So now we are left to speculate like good little fan boys and girls. Personally I think Blizzard is coming out with a line of coloring adventure books, where you have to grind away and color full pages red or blue to level up. That or greeting cards.
My real guess would be an expansion pack for Word of Warcraft. In WoW’s lore the Cataclysm is an important part of the lore. I would guess that if Blizzard made a new IP they would try and make it different than the one they got.
